Caddy Mae knitting

It was a fall day in 2006 when Caddy Ledbetter-Melville walked into Workshop to show us her latest collection of knitwear. The following day she came back, wearing a tool belt, carrying a drill, and determined to help us put up new shelves at shop, something we had casually mentioned we were planning to do.
Caddy is simply one of those amazing people who seems to have a knack for everything: that day I saw her expertly use a stud-finder (something I still find a mystery) while describing in great detail a new yarn she had just received in the mail…that’s Caddy.

Caddy’s collection has been carried at Workshop ever since that first day and she is a favorite with our customers. She teaches knitting classes at the shop and now she has gone one step further and become a published author. Caddy and her Mom have written a beautiful book: Mother-Daughter Knits: 30 Designs to Flatter and Fit. If you don’t have it already, you must get it – it is full of patterns designed and written by them and even though I don’t knit, this book makes me want to start! Come into Workshop to see Caddy Mae’s simple knit headbands and elegant shrugs.
